The Art Center Theater has presented outstanding performances for more than sixty years. Sustained by strongly committed community members, it offers an extensive program of comedies, dramas, and musicals. It has been honored with a variety of theater and community awards.


2008 Ojai season


“It’s A Wonderful Life,” (Dec. 12 – 21), a fully staged version of the Christmas classic about “Everyman” George Bailey who, in a moment of despair, thinks of committing suicide but rediscovers the love of family and community instead.

Auditions

PRIVATE LIVES

Ojai ACT welcomes actors from around the county to audition for Noel Coward’s timeless classic, “Private Lives,” which will be performed Feb. 6 to March 7.

Auditions are Friday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 15 and 16, from 2-4 p.m. at the theater, 113 N. Montgomery St.

Two men (ages 35 – 45) and two women (ages 20 – 40) are needed to play recently divorced couples who unwittingly book adjoining suites at the same hotel for their honeymoons to their new spouses, only to find out they still care for each other. Another woman (ages 18 – 25 ) who speaks French is needed for the maid’s part.
